How are wait times calculated?
Security wait times are calculated using Blip Track, a system that measures queue length, capacity, and throughput. This technology works by detecting Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signals from mobile devices, such as phones and tablets, and works by placing sensors at strategic points in a specified area in the airline security check. By re-identifying devices from multiple sensors, the travel times, dwell times, and movement patterns become available. By tracking movement patterns, the system provides real-time estimates of how long it takes passengers to pass through security.
Keep in mind that these estimates are subject to change, and actual wait times may vary. Always allow extra time when traveling to ensure you reach your gate without unnecessary stress.
